A record attendance was present at the St. Paul's Hotel
in Sheffield last night for the annual end of season dinner and award ceremony. Chairman Richard Tims kicked off
proceedings with a talk and video of the things that have happened this year off the field and also the vision of
the future for the club. This vision includes a new kit (yet to be unveiled) for next season, and a new club crest (as
featured on the front page of the site), the way forward apparently being to drop the statement "The World's Oldest Football Club"
which has been used for 150 years in favour of..."The World's First Club". I think the jury (fans) are still
out on that one. Nevertheless, onto the awards :-

BEHIND THE FLAG
Our own award is now in it's fifth season, and this was
the closest it's ever been. Previous years have seen the award won at a canter apart from one seson where there was a two-way
tie. This year though, there were a total of seventeen different players who won the man of the match vote at least once.
The result went right down to the wire with five players tying on four votes and a further three players just one vote
behind that. However, cometh the hour-cometh the man. The very last qualifying match for votes saw this player show his true
class, and also get us out of a tight spot regarding the award too ! The BTF player of the season, and the first player to
win it twice........TOM JONES ! Well done Tom from all at BTF (if only he'd stayed for the award - still, we're sure Marshie
enjoyed his champagne !).
